Dj Bluedice Bio

Originally hailing from Baltimore, MD, he started playing at local parties as a teen. Bluedice's military and college career moved him out west, where he relocated and began spinning at local bars, clubs, and events in New Mexico, Nevada, Arizona and California. He soon made a name for himself in Phoenix and became the resident DJ at the Valley's longest running after hours spot, Mable Murphy's. For the past 10 years, Bluedice has become well known around the Valley for keeping the dance floors packed, spinning sophisticated, yet eclectic, sets that always whip the crowd into a frenzy.

DJ Bluedice's musical style reflects his eclectic influences—from jazz-funk fusion to Baltimore house and of course classic hip-hop and R&B—all distilled down to a pure party sound that keeps your head bobbin', your feet movin', and your heart reminiscin'.

DJ Bluedice grew up in a profoundly musical household of trained musicians and vocalist. He benefited from his mother's  vast record collection and his love of music started from a very young age. Bluedice is not just a whiz behind the decks, but also a classically-trained trombonist. He is, nonetheless, a completely self-taught DJ, buying all the necessary gear with money saved up from part-time jobs and learning by bringing a new piece of musical technology home, plugging it in, and pushing all the buttons until something happened. The first record he bought was NWA's Express Yourself.

After trying his hand at MC'ing in his early teens, Bluedice found his niche behind the turntables.
